At unlocked labs, our goal is to deliver science-based probiotics with proven effectiveness to enhance physical health and wellbeing. We program our probiotic bacteria using their own DNA, turning their powers into superpowers. This unique approach means our probiotics don’t have DNA from other organisms.
unlocked labs' probiotics function as nanoscale bioreactors that can biodegrade toxins in the intestine. Biodegrading toxins in the gut can in turn reduce levels throughout the body, as the gut balances with the rest of the body through the circulation.
unlocked labs' flagship product is Krystalase. This patent-pending probiotic supplement is specifically programmed to address the root cause of gout by biodegrading uric acid. Right now, we are working on making sure Krystalase is safe for your liver and kidneys!
People with gout will be able to benefit from our proprietary technology exclusively through Krystalase.
Our story
unlocked labs was founded in 2018 as Theraneutrics LLC.
Since then, we've been hard at work to develop safe and effective probiotics for gout and other chronic conditions. Our approach to reprogramming our microbes has evolved over the years. We have arrived at a minimalist philosophy: we don't create 'Frankenbugs'. Instead, we use the genes nature put in the DNA of our bacteria.
All we change is the way the circuitry inside the bugs turns on the genes. The ability to biodegrade the toxins that cause chronic conditions like gout is usually turned 'off' in bacteria, as they don't need it. We've developed a unique approach to turning these genes 'on' under the conditions that probiotics encounter in the intestine.
We're proud of our minimalist approach to reprogramming bacteria. We believe we've found a way to maximize the benefits of probiotic bacteria with the absolute minimum of genetic engineering.

Christoph Geisler
CEO & Founder
Dr. Geisler is the visionary and inventor of unlocked labs’ proprietary technology. Christoph holds a PhD. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wyoming and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Zuyd University of Applied Science in the Netherlands.
James Francis
Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder
James oversees the day-to-day operations and business development at unlocked labs. James is a serial entrepreneur in the biohealth field. He has an MBA, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree in engineering from the University of Wyoming.
Michal Luczak
Head of Detoxification
As the Head of Detoxification, Michal focuses on the development of new strains. He attended Adam Mickiewicz University and Poznan University of Medical School where he earned a Masters and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, respectively. He was a postdoc at Brown University, later becoming their Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
